A Weekend Filled With Friends

This was an awesome weekend, because pretty much all I did was hang out with my friends. Here is a recap:

Saturday I met the IMAZ ladies at the Coronado Strand for a taper ride.... meaning they only had to ride 30 miles instead of the usual 80-plus. Honestly I find the strand incredibly boring, but give me seven girls to talk to and the time just flies by. My only complaint was that there were a ton of people on the bike path, and I was freaked out that someone would crash and get injured the weekend before the big event. Luckily everyone finished on one piece.

After the ride we all went to Tent City for breakfast.... and a gossip feast! I must admit I did not know a lot of the people they were talking about, but it was fun non-the-less. I think we were there for longer than it took to complete the ride. So nice relaxing and enjoying the beautiful day.
Sunday I had the honor of riding with another IMAZ lady, Mer! I am not doing any running right now so I took the opportunity to do a ride on Sunday instead of my usual run, and it was a blast. We rode up the coast and enjoyed another beautiful San Diego day... and of course talked the entire way.
Then I met my friends Kristin and Noel at the mall to do a little shopping for work clothes. Of course I did not find anything for work, but did find an awesome summer dress... thank goodness it was almost 90-degrees here today! We all held up pretty well across two malls, seeing as none of us are true die-hard shoppers. Seeing as we had all bought cute clothes, we decided that we needed a night out, so to La Jolla we went. I took the opportunity to go down a little early and see an beautiful sunset at my favorite spot in the cove.. and it did not disappoint. Then it was off to meet the girls and two other friends at Wiskanladle. I had been wanting to eat there for a long time, and it did not disappoint. All of the food is fresh and local. I am really into that right now!
This weekend reminded me how fortunate I am to have some of the most athletic, intelligent, funny and kindest friends around! Can't wait for the next weekend... only five days away!

What's with the title?

So I finally entered blog land. After over a year of being a faithful reader of my friends blogs, I have decided to start my own. If you know me, you know that I am a huge fan of weighting my options and the pros and cons of stuff... so why should my blog be any different. Pros: I get a diary of what is going on in my life, I get to share a bit about myself, and I get to share all of the fun, strange, funny and crazy things that happen in my life. Cons: Anyone can read this, and then make fun of me! After a consult with my friend and professional blogger Jen, I decided to give it a shot!

The first question is "What's with the title?" That's an easy one. My favorite quote is "There are no shortcuts to any place worth going!" I have no idea of the author of that quote, so I'll take it as my own. It was in a poster on the wall of my European History class in high school. My other favorite quote is "What doesn't kill me will only make me stronger!" I was thinking of calling my blog "It won't kill me... It won't kill you" as I often want to tell my patients that I am not sure what is the matter with them, but I am sure it won't kill them.

So please fell free to read and enjoy my blog! Let me know what you think!
